The stick figure has played a very important role in the history of the planet.
However most people think of stick figures today as a mere footnote in the art books.
The stick figure has roots in various cultures around the world.
I have recently discovered many diferent cultures that have utilized the stick figure throughout history. Austrailia being one of these cultures. In australia the works of art that are cave paintings are said to be the actual ancestoral beings rather than the work of any human artist. The ancestors of australia have a strange belief that spirits called "Mimi" ae so thin and frail that they can come out of hiding when there is minimal or no wind. Because if they wee to come out of their hiding places they would be blown away.

Also Greek people have utilized the stick figure in some of their vase paintings. In the geometric period (8th century BC).The vases were used as grave markers and often depicted a story. Often times the bigger the vase was the more important you were in society.
